Daily Wind Predictions

This weather product shows the predicted wind direction and speed for a given date and time. Because wind can affect evapotranspiration (ET), this information can be useful for making irrigation decisions. For example, high hot winds are likely to cause soil water to drop quickly. Wind can also affect the efficiency of irrigation, by blowing water away from the fields and by increasing the evaporation of the irrigated water from the ground and plant surfaces. In addition, one might want to take wind forecasts into account for other decisions, such as when spraying or planning field work.
