Five-day Temperature Forecasts
These products, produced by the NOAA Hydrometeorological Prediction Center (HPC) and updated daily, provide forecasts for anomalies of five-day maximum temperature. Note that the forecast for anomalies, illustrated above in the colored map, shows the difference between expected maximum temperature and long-term (climatic) mean maximum temperatures. By considering the climatic mean temperatures and the predicted anomalies for the same location, one can estimate the five-day maximum temperature, which can then be used to estimate evapotranspiration (ET).
